The Santa Cruz Shredder 2-Piece Grinder is a streamlined, single-chamber material preparation tool designed to process dry botanicals. Manufactured in the United States, this device is CNC-machined from solid, medical-grade aluminum to ensure long-term durability. By omitting additional storage compartments and sifting screens, the two-part configuration provides a direct grinding process within a lower-profile form factor. Each unit undergoes an anodizing process that hardens the exterior, making it highly scratch-resistant and protecting against corrosion. Prior to packaging, the grinder is ultrasonically cleansed to remove any residual manufacturing particles. This model serves as a central hub for four available sizes: Small, Medium, Large, and Jumbo.
Patented Tooth Design
Rather than utilizing traditional sharp-edged teeth, this device features a patented tooth geometry that is radiused at the base. This structural engineering is specifically designed to reduce metal fatigue, which helps prevent the teeth from bending or shedding microscopic aluminum flakes into the botanical material. The mechanism cuts ingredients in multiple directions simultaneously, producing a consistent, fluffy texture instead of pulverizing the contents.
Secure Magnetic Closure
The grinder incorporates a rare-earth neodymium magnet embedded directly into the center of the unit. This strong magnetic mechanism ensures that the top grinding lid remains securely attached to the bottom base during rotation and transport. By maintaining a tight seal, the magnet prevents accidental spills of the dry botanicals and keeps the two aluminum components aligned for a smooth grinding motion.
Ergonomic Knurled Grip
Both the exterior top and bottom edges are equipped with a heavily knurled texture. This design element provides a secure, non-slip grip that facilitates the twisting motion required to process materials. The enhanced traction is particularly beneficial for accommodating users who may experience hand or wrist discomfort. Additionally, a built-in friction ring prevents metal-on-metal contact, ensuring rotation remains smooth without binding.
Multiple Size Options
To accommodate varying volume capacities, this aluminum grinder is manufactured in four distinct dimensions. Users can select from the Small (approx. 41 mm), Medium (approx. 54 mm), Large (approx. 70 mm), or the Jumbo 4-inch diameter model. Regardless of the chosen size, each version maintains the same two-piece configuration and undergoes the identical ultrasonic cleaning process prior to distribution.
