Black Widow VaporizerLast update: January 15, 2019
The Black Widow is a herbal and concentrates vaporizer. It weighs only 0.40 lbs and features magnetic cover and pretty sleek design. Powered by a 2000mAh built-in battery, the Black Widow utilizes a ceramic heating element with the conduction vaporizing method. It comes with five preset temperatures: 356°F, 374°F, 392°F, 410°F, and 428°F. The best part is, it can hold up to 0.5g of herbs!
For the first time in your life, you can be happy to see a Black Widow. Forged from metal and available at an incredible price point, this Widow is every bit as potent as its natural counterpart. The build quality of this vaporizer is incredible. And it’s likely that you will keep the Widow for a long time, even as you begin to upgrade to more expensive devices. The Widow has plenty of firepower for whatever you need, whenever you need. It discards any complicated LED screens or machinery for a quick, efficient vaporizer experience. For all of the praise it deserves as a dry herb vaporizer, the Black Widow is also a dual-use vaporizer that comes with an insert for concentrates. Don’t be scared of the power of that little red hourglass. The Black Widow is here to knock your socks off in the best possible way.
The Metal Approach
The Black Widow has come out of nowhere to make waves in the industry, especially in the low-to-midrange category. One of the primary reasons it stands out is the full metal mouthpiece that comes standard with every unit. It does an excellent job of dissipating heat and is a nice addition to an inexpensive vaporizer that you would expect to have a plastic mouthpiece. It is affixed to the body by way of a rubber gasket and a couple of decently powerful magnets. Underneath the mouthpiece is a slender ceramic oven that can hold about half a gram of material. Besides the stainless steel of the mouthpiece, everything your herbs or concentrates touche is ceramic. A big win for the Black Widow and the flavor of your materials. Metal also means that this piece will last a long time. Typically, the engines of inexpensive vaporizers work fine, but you will lose the cheaper parts over time. You won’t have to worry about that with the Widow. The entire body of this device consists of a sturdy aluminum alloy.
There’s more to this device than the material it is made from. There is also much to say about the materials it can vape. It is equipped with the concentrate insert and can handle most everything you throw at it. For an inexpensive vaporizer like the Black Widow, that’s a pretty impressive feat. The only downside to having a concentrate option is that the oven has to reach exceptionally high temperatures to vaporize the tougher wax. That can be a load on a smaller battery. Thankfully the Black Widow packs a 2200 mAh lithium-ion battery which can handle the energy needs of a concentrate vape. Thanks to the metal mouthpiece, as well, you will be tasting even more of your materials than you ever could with a plastic piece.
Budget Vaporizer of Your Dreams
Of course, one of the main advantages of the Black Widow is the price. You’re going to be hard pressed to find a vaporizer of this quality within the same price range. That’s one of the features that makes the Widow so hard to resist. Another is the exceptional temperature flexibility, achieved without the assistance of an expensive LED screen. The Widow has this temperature to choose from:
- Low: 356°F
- Medium Low: 374°F
- Medium: 392°F
- Medium High: 410°F
- High: 428°F
You aren’t going to be using the “high” setting all that much if you only vaporize dry herbs. That level is reserved solely for concentrates. The extra headroom is designed to vaporize all the sticky concentrate it can manage. All you need to do is hold the power button down for three seconds to change the temperature for whatever you need.
The extra setting for concentrates can send the potency of the Black Widow into the stratosphere. Even the lower settings have a habit of producing large vapor clouds, thanks to the free-streaming air path. It is designed to have much less resistance than similar vapes. The makers of the Black Widow wanted it to be as easy as possible to inhale their vapor out of the all-ceramic airpath. This unit is a conduction vaporizer, optimized to heat the ceramic oven surrounding your herbs or concentrates. In general, conduction means that it will have a relatively fast heat-up time. This remains true for the Black Widow, capable of heating up to its highest temperatures in under 30 seconds. Because of these factors, and due to the large chamber, you can pack your herbs as tight as you desire. Remember, although the Black Widow has the firepower to incinerate your herbs, that doesn’t mean you should use it. The lower settings of this device give off a much more satisfying flavor and can create a more relaxing experience.
